Another word block tutorial…I just love ‘em!
It’s so nice to have these little sayings for all the holidays and they make for very cute decorations too. So let’s get started. First you gotta round up all your supplies:
-Scrapbook paper (fall colors of course)
-2x4 pieces of wood (mine are different sizes-can’t remember what sizes-but it’s fun to have a variety)
-Paint and a paint brush
-Silhouette Cutting Machine
-Sticker Machine (this comes in handy…trust me!)
Step 1: Paint the back and sides of your blocks. I don’t paint the entire front cuz you will end up covering it anyway.
When I’m working with longer words I like to write the letter on each block as well, just in case things get a little mixed up.
Step 2: Pick out your colors and decide which block they will go on. I like to just trace the block onto the paper and then cut it out.
Step 3: This is where the sticker machine comes in handy. Turn your pieces of papers into stickers so you don’t have to use glue or modge podge…end result…NO BUBBLES EVER!!!!! It is a-ma-zing! And so super easy!
Step 4: After you have stickerized {that’s a word, right?!} your papers stick them onto your blocks. See, so easy isn’t it!? When I first used my sticker machine I was hooked…no more bubbles or sticky messes.
Step 5: Use your silhouette to cut your letters. I used the font Gentle Redhead. I also decided that I would need two colors…a light and a dark…because I had both light and dark colored papers. These are the letters I did in brown. All the other letters were done in ivory.
Step 6: Put those letters on! The project is almost done!!!!!
Step 7: This is by far my favorite step…ACCESSORIZE! Sometimes I like to leave my blocks blank but most of the time I like to add just a little extra something to make it fabulous!
I was even able to use my super cute turkey!!! Love my fireplace!
